The evolvement of the mobile communication technologies and the growth of smartphones bring new challenges to telecommunication operators:
•     The traditional Network O&M is based on network KPIs to focus on the KPI of network entities and the status of devices, and do not take QoE and service into account. Hence, it cannot monitor and optimize the network according to the service and QoE.
•     O&M is implemented by Network Optimization Department and Core Network Department in telecommunications operators, which makes e2e QoS monitoring and troubleshooting difficult and even impossible.
•     Long cycle to handle customer complaints and to locate and determine the trouble in network side or terminal side, even cannot handle the trouble, which results in customer churn;
•     Traditional DPI tools focus on identifying applications and accumulating data flow, they are not capable to deeply mine the flows’ characteristics and analyze and process big data.
